Headed to London (Ontario that is) AND-added a final Toronto show
Dear Weirdos, I forgot to wish Bob Dylan a happy birthday the other day and that got me to thinking about this cool bartender I met a couple nights ago at The Moonshine Cafe. His name is Marty and he has a great Bob Dylan tattoo of the picture of Bob on the cover of The Times They Are a-Changin'. So happy 70th Bob! You know I love you. Wow. 70 years old. Still makin' great music.
We are headed to London Ontario right now. We're weaving in and out of Toronto traffic avoiding radar cops and generally behaving like your basic semi-law abiding traveling road warriors. Perhaps I see a Tim Horton's steeped tea in my hazy future. I think there are crazy chemicals in their steeped tea and the sooner I leave this country then the sooner I can begin my withdrawal period. Tonight I play a show at The London Music Club and doors are at 8:30 I hit the stage around 9:30. We're talking pm here.
Thanks to all the sweet Hugh's Room patrons from last night's show. I played a 2 and 3/4 hour marathon set with no breaks. Stupid long. But it sure was fun and fulfilling. Lots of weirdness ensued and only 20 people got arrested. So far, for the fiscal year, arrests seem to be on the wane for my shows. Perhaps people are snorting less meth and carrying fewer hand grenades but whatever it is, it's working. Lately the people who have been attending my concerts seem to be better educated and more well rounded. I love them all because I have to. I made a contract with the chief operating officer in the sky. I promised to try to be kind to others and to give my spare change to people in intersections whenever asked.
I only have two more shows left in Canada for this leg of the tour. We have added a private/ open show. We just decided to do it because it sounded super fun. The show is on Friday night June 3rd at Betty's on King. It starts at 8:30 pm. For tickets you need to reserve ahead because it's a tiny venue. So call Jeff at (416) 561-6536 or email him at email@example.com He will get your name and info and the night will be sublime.
Thanks for always being patient and kind. Thanks for baking cookies. Thanks for supporting live music. Thanks for the grandiose vibrations you unleash on the planet. Thanks for not stepping on snails. Thanks for wearing clean socks. Remember-there is no I in team but there is a you in fuck you. I don't know what that means but I like the way it sounds. You guys are like cool chocolate pudding on a warm sunny day while sitting in the shade. You guys are freaks. I am normal. You guys are Alabama fireworks sold at a road side stand. Explode and create pretty designs in sky for me. I'll be looking up at the sky tonight and I'll be waiting. See you in London, Ontario that is. Tonight.
