Sitting in the airport waiting. Headed on a new little journey. Man, this music thing sure takes me to some far off places.

I’m excited for the little journeys. The time we spend on this planet as we pass through. It’s fun to sing and create.

It’s fun to dream and have images enter the old brain.

I miss home but I want to keep on moving as well. Singapore hall be a hoot of an old time. Come one come all. Tiger Airways ya say? Hmmm… Is that duct tape holding the wing on?

I’m in Adelaide. Gonna fly to Perth. Sleep tonight. The play a private show in a Perth music store. Then Tuesday evening I fly to Singapore.

Last night I played a birthing center in Adelaide. The money went to Blankets of Love. There have been a lot of babies born at the birthing center. It was one of the strangest places I’ve ever played. And I’ve played some strange places. There were quite a few mothers breast feeding their babies during the show with boobs fully hanging out. It was awesome! I was pretending they were flashing me and I was at Woodstock. Super fun night. I think they raised some money.
Life is good.
Happy early Mothers Day back home. It’s already Sunday here.

Ran into Paul Kelly in Perth

Sometimes you’re sleepy and you land in an airport and you’ve been grinding it out night after night and you need a boost. Well- yesterday I ran into Paul Kelly at the airport in Perth. He’s an Aussie legend and I freaking love his songs. It made my whole day. Gave me a great energy boost. Love him.

Tonight I play at The North Fremantle Bowling Club. 8 Thompson rd Norrh Frenantle. 7pm

Perth! Fremantle yay!

Leaving New South Wales and headed to Perth. Western Australia beckons and I’m there to answer the call of musical duty. This is where I made my latest record. Noineen Noiny Noin was conceived in Perth. I play tonight at The Fly Trap which is inside The Fly By Night club. It’s going to be a hootenanny. Oh yes. Wear your girlie shows and put a ribbon in your hair. Put on your manly cologne and clip your toenails. Blow your nose and floss your pearly tea stained chompers. The proverbial rug shall be cut and we are going set the town ablaze. I must get on a plane first and fly west from Sydney to Perth. Qantas please be good to my guitars.

Left to right Peter O’Doherty (artist ex Mental As Anything currently Dog Trumpet) Amanda Brown (The Go Betweens and now current soundtrack composer) Simon Marnie (ABC Radio weekends with Simon and chef extraordinaire) yours truly and Reg Mombassa ( ex Mental As Anything current Dog Trumpet and amazing artist) I’m holding a sketch Reg made me! Wow! And a book about his brother Peter O’Dohery’s upcoming art exhibition.
Simon made us oysters and prawns and lamb and salads and bread and more salads and coffees and teas.

Tonight I head to Newcastle. I open for Jimmy Barnes at Lizotte’s.
