My pretend cooking show!

I like to pretend I have my own cooking show. And then I like to pretend that Bob’s Red Mill oatmeal hired me to make an ad for their oatmeal along with a jingle. But they didn’t. And I don’t have a cooking show. This is all for fun. It was shot and edited by my friend David Sosnow. Jamul Ca this Saturday

Hey San Diego peeps. I’m playing a really cool back porch house concert in Jamul Ca this Saturday June 15. It’s on the back patio of a sweet house that overlooks a canyon. You can hear the coyotes howl. Pretty freaking cool. Bring a jacket or a blanket because it gets chilly at night. Jamul is 19.9 miles east of San Diego as the crow flies. Annemarie and her very cool husband Lee have a few horses and they’re the sweetest couple west of The Pecos. You can bring your own beer and kick back and listen to the tunes. Final night of the tour

Thanks Rancho Mirage! Last night was fun. I have now woken up in Chandler Arizona, just outside of Phoenix. Today’s forecast: more heat.
I play my final show of this Jewel tour tonight at The Wild Horse Pass Casino. It’s been a smooth little ride and I’m feeling sort of sentimental today. I’ve had many last nights of a tour so I was expecting this feeling. There’s always new adventures ahead. The crew on this tour have been really sweet and helpful and I’ll miss them.

Hello Rancho Mirage! I just finished my soundcheck. I went to high school in Palm Springs so this is a kind of homecoming for me. I go on at 8:35 pm Auga Caliente Casino opening for Jewel.

Vegas

I’m in Vegas tonight. Feel like Elvis.
It’s 116 degrees outside and I went for a walk and melted like a grilled cheese sandwich. People’s faces are warped and their words are slurred and all the birds are dead. Even the lizards are seeking shade. My fingers are too tired to get into trouble. Cool water calls my name. The world is a hot sauna today and Las Vegas sidewalks are are only used for frying eggs. Elvis impersonators are still asleep in darkened hotel rooms where air conditioners work overtime and drip condensation into the cracked asphalt in the alleys behind the motels where seedy drug deals are made. The ghost of Frank Sinatra watches over me while I tune my guitar and get ready for the evening’s songfest. Yeah- it’s ducking hot outside but I’m cool with that. It’s a dry heat. Yeah, that’s the ticket! It’s a dry heat and it is making me dry heave.
